By His Wounds You Have Been Healed
So I am coming at you with a scenario that has happened to me before, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one.
Last week someone said something to me that hit different, and it was a trigger of something I thought had been long healed in me from childhood.
I was wounded by what was said, and I soon forgave the person who said it and moved on.
Then a few days went by, and I was reading in 1 Peter 2 when my heart stopped at verse 24.
Which says, "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins, and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." (1 Pt. 2:24)
I thought, I could go immediately to Jesus with this pain I felt and talk to the One who was wounded, physically and emotionally, so that I could die to sin and live for righteousness.
I think Jesus wants to meet us in our pain and hurt and can relate to us — we just need the reminder that He is there, ready to hear us and speak to us through His word.
I want to do this more often. I love that at this stage in the game, I am still learning, and God is still working things out in my heart.
